I will dominate 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
